There are several different types of air purifier for the home and it pays to know which is which before investing in one. Room air cleaners or air purifiers work by drawing air from the room into the system via an internal fan. The air is then filtered and cleaned and released back out into the room.
There was a recent lawsuit filed in the US by a major ionic air purifier manufacturer who claimed that a consumer report about their air purifiers was a product defamation. The report in question claimed that the tested air purifier system removed very little matter from the air and that it significantly raised ozone levels.
Numerous situations occur where it just makes good sense to utilize metered air fresheners. Most public restroom facilities these days now use these products to help keep bad odors under control. Locker rooms are also viable locations for this technology, as is any space where the air can become trapped, stale and "ripe."
